  1. I had to 'blow-up' the picture but I found the chicks! Won't say where, don't want to ruin it for others ;o)
OH and that house, don't think I would want to live in that. Looks too scary to think about the what ifs........

    1. Haha, everyone loves a puzzle it seems! That HOUSE used to be on vertical poles into the bedrock until a CYCLONE 44 years ago nearly tossed it down the hill, so I'm assuming these new poles its on are an engineering masterpiece. I couldn't believe it when I spotted it.

  2. I had to blow this picture up too and found the chicks but also won't say where.

That house looks like it is on chopsticks.

    Love that fish.

Have a lovely Sunday ~ FlowerLady

  3. I found them ---after I clicked on the photo and made it bigger.....

I would be scared to death living in that house... Are they sure it is SAFE????? Looks like a high wind would blow it down.... Yipes...

    Love the artwork.

    1. Sure are Kellie, that photo was of them across the road and I'm sure the neighbour is sick of me (seemingly) staring at them quite often. Because they can't see the birds but I can. :/

  5. I too, had to enlarge the pic to find the fuzzy little things! You know, the adults remind me a lot of our Roadrunners here in Arizona. Not the most attractive birds, but quite hardy. I don't believe I've ever seen one fly - run they do! And they are carnivorous creatures, too. One attacked and killed a lovely Mourning Dove in my back yard! I was quite devastated.

    Hugs to you, Rose!

    1. Hi Tamara! really? a Mourning Dove! OH dear I would have been upset too! I imagine these fellows are insect eaters - gosh I hope that's what they eat!
      Hugs to you too!

  6. Everyone had to blow up the pics. Wish I could say different. I wouldn't live in that house either. Madness. But I guess if it almost blew down in a cyclone, no one will buy it off the owners either. They're stuck with it.

I've had such a lazy day. Didn't do anything other than colour my hair and clean the bathroom. Slug. Hope yours was a little more exciting? X

    1. Fairly lazy day here too, it's a bit tooo hot here today to be very active. I think the low from that cyclone is going to dump a heap of rain on us early in the week. Great, the humidity will rise again.
Been shabby chic-ing some furniture/decorator items.
Gad, still can't find a dining suite.............

  7. Nice series. Is this in your home town? I didn't find the chicks, but I think that I just am not good at that :-)

    1. Hello Gert, yes the photos are in my home town. Now that I know my way around again, I will be taking lots more photos of unusual things (like the house) around my home town.
      Have a great week!

  8. I wrote something here and it went *poof* all away. Damn. I should get in the habit of copying before I hit "publish."

    What I SAID was:
I found one chick but unless they are in a lump I couldn't find the others.
The house's inevitable groans and creaks (like any house) would send me screaming into the street, I think. And I wonder if they have windows in the floor, like skylights, but underfoot? That would be interesting, wouldn't it?

The fish make me think of small children and day-camp-class-mosaic-ashtrays.

    1. Oh June, how annoying for your comment to go "poof" - it happens to me more regularly on other people's blogs than I care to remember.

I too think the chicks are cuddled up together.

-chuckle- I don't even know where the street is, that one could go screaming into!! Hahaha What a thought - skylights underfoot. Nothing would surprise me in that house!

  9. Oh my, I'm not sure how soundly I'd sleep in this house. i'm sure its designed really well, but still!! Yeh I see those little chicks down there, glad to hear they're all doing so well Rose, I think you've become quite attached oui!

    1. Anything more than a mild breeze and i'd be in a panic, and as for the chicks Grace - "oui totalement"

  10. OK Rose-I give up--I could only find one-where is the other??It seems that a wall of some sort is in the background-is their nest there or are they just passing through?? I think I would feel more secure living alongside their nest than I would feel living in that house that is just waiting to be tumbled over by the eternal forces of gravity-nature-and time itself..Awesome fish photo...As always, nice pics...

    1. Haha Jim, the second one is cuddled in with the other. NO nest at all! Ever. Initially the parents just scratch around in some bark somewhere, lay the eggs, incubate (and hope for the best I suppose) and the chicks are up and ready to exit the (nest)within a few short hours.
I would love to speak with the owners of that house. Read my very first response on this post and you'll get a bit of background on the house. Not much but a little.

  11. The supporting legs on the house look like the bird's legs - like the house but don't think I could be comfortable living in it.
I could not find the chicks!
    You find intersting subjects!

    1. Hi Betty! someone said the house supports look like chopsticks (very apt I thought!)
Chicks are on the ground behind the tail of the bird looking at us.

  12. I found em but only by blowing the pic up! As for that house, that's scary engineering. These architects must know what they're doing though right?

  13. Hi Rose, there are definitely two chicks down there, I can just about make out two heads.
Love the house on stilts, it brings back memories of an afternoon's barbecue on Scott and Sharon's balcony feeding a Kookaburra.

    1. Ah Jim, you are the only person to find two heads! OMG that is such a common pasttime in Oz - feeding kookaburras from the landing!

    1. Nor I Keith, I'm not a heights girl at all!

Funny you mention St Paddys day as when I lived here 20 years ago, it was a really big thing, but I noticed this year that there was little fanfare and hardly a green thing to be seen. Odd, it was such a contrast and an observation on my part.

    2. It's certainly big here. But I think it's just an excuse to get sloshed :)

Hi Rose! I can't find the chicks!! :( Oh, well, I have olden eyes! ;) Now that house looks scary! Looks like it could just slide on down the cliff! You really humble me with your sweet comments. I get ideas in my head and go to bed thinking about things and then I can't sleep. Then I just go for it! ;) Again, you do make me feel great! ;)

Hi Rose! I'm so glad you like my post and the stair railing. It is quite unusual and kinda funky, but we like it. OH, I appreciate the info on the birds and now I know what they are. They sound like little boogers! But they are pretty, aren't they? Oh, I hope the song brought back some sweet memories for you! I always appreciate your visits.
    Blessings,
    Shelia ;)
