The improvement along the esplanade is quite remarkable and nothing like when I was a child, or a teenager, when we would park convoy-style along the beach front, light a fire on the beach in the early hours, and wait for the rising sun.
PS: ......
and many thanks to new blog friend Bernie from bushbernie.blogspot.com who was the first to correctly identify the mystery tree in my last post! It is apparently commonly know as the Sausage Tree (Kigelia Pinnata) - a south African tree.
Visit Bernie's Aussie blog, it's amazing.
HAPPY BLOGGING

ReplyDeleteRose, I’ve been having trouble commenting. I’ve been told by blogger that your blog had become private and not open for visitors. I don’t know if you noticed. Did you change anything about the setting?
No I haven't changed my settings at all Friko and it's not private, but other bloggers have said that Blogger, out of the blue did the same to them. I, also am having trouble commenting on blogs via my new platform of 'bloglovin' and have had to place some blogs in favourites, and have no trouble commenting from there. It's all quite puzzling.
DeleteIt is wonderful to see you!
Your comment about it being nothing like what it was when you were younger made me smile. It's so true with many of the places I visit that I remembered as a kid. I'll tell my own children about it, and then when we get there, it's not the same. Sad in a way, progress must go on. But I wish some of the places would remain the same.....
ReplyDeleteSo true Bonnie, since returning to my home town I've noticed many changes, some quite wonderful others not so. And in other instances I notice pockets that are shocking time-warps!
DeleteSadly, most of my favorite places aren't in time-warps. Instead they've turned into tourist traps or have so many new stores and buildings it's hard to find the old......
DeleteGorgeous photos.. Love that blue-blue sky... We've had so much rain lately --so it's nice to see some blue skies on someone's blog.
ReplyDeleteYour new home area is GORGEOUS...
Hugs,
Betsy
Thank you dear Betsy - you know I am thinking of you at this time.

Beautiful Photos Rose! The water looked so pretty and calm.
ReplyDeleteThe calmness of the bay is quite reliable at sunrise Cheri. I enjoy the sea when it looks calm and unthreatening. :)

ReplyDeleteThank you Rose, the beautiful weather at this time of year helps greatly too!
DeleteHowdy Rose, beautiful photos and gee you live in a lovely part of Oz. That beautiful blue sky looks appealing. We're having a wild, wet and stormy night here in SA. Love the header photo too! No worries, and love, Carol (and Stella and Rory)
ReplyDeleteYou've been copping it down that way Carol! Thanks, its one of my fav headers.

I adore the tropics at this time of year Lorraine (and you would certainly understand this) but summer, well that's a different story!
DeleteBut yes, it is home now - and thank you for your good wishes.

DeleteWhat a feast for the eyes, Rose - you live in a gorgeous setting. It's so calming to be around water. PS Do you know you don't have your profile enabled - cannot get to your blog from your name when you comment. No worries for me since I have you on my dashboard, but others may not know where to look.
ReplyDeleteI've had a couple of people tell me that Barb, and I did check and made sure I ticked the box in my settings that says share profile. Gosh I thought ticking that had the prob fixed, maybe not! I'll have to check again. Thanks for telling me!
DeleteHi Rose, I've only just seen this so maybe you were having problems. Gorgeous pictures and it looks like you're having wonderful weather too.
ReplyDeleteHeading to your most recent post now, be there in a jiffy !
Perhaps I was even having more problems than I first thought Jim!
